Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) – Aomori Senior High School
A program in which the Japanese government brings native English
speakers into the country in an effort to expose students and
others to native English as well as to other cultures. I was responsible
for designing the curriculum of the reading, writing, and conversation
classes at Aomori High School, in addition to participating in
many after-school activities. Also aided seniors in choosing foreign
universities and studying for the TOEFL exam.

Senior Portfolio Administrator
Supervised a staff of four Portfolio Administrators in a San Francisco
based Financial Planning firm. My main responsibility was managing
projects from start to completion. This entailed daily phone contact
with the parties involved, being proactive with regards to potential
problems, troubleshooting when a problem did arise, and making
sure all parties were aware of the status of the project. In addition,
I provided the training and continuing education for the staff,
resolved client issues and assisted the managers in acquiring
new clients and managing existing clients. Responsible for assisting
the Portfolio Managers in creating client financial plans, by
researching investments and devising asset allocations.

Investment Information Representative
Worked in a call-center environment for the Pennsylvania based
Mutual Fund Company. Answered incoming calls from existing and
potential clients and provided them with information about investment
choices. Educated the callers on the basics of asset allocation,
risk, and diversification of their investment portfolios. I was
also responsible for resolving client issues; this entailed a
lot of troubleshooting and coordination with other departments.
Additional Experience
JET Program
§ Conducted an after-school English Conversation Club once
a week for all interested students. Discussed different cultures
and customs, current events, celebrated different holidays, and
planned recreational and educational activities.
§ 60-75 teaching hours a month.
§ Acted as assistant basketball coach for the boy’s
team.
§ Held one-on-one tutoring classes for the 12th grade students
in preparation for the English portion of the University Entrance
