Project/Teaching Experience
I have been working at SIT since November 2000, I have worked
quite heavily with JADE since 2001, and I have been the key JADE
trainer and consultant since then. I have adapted the JADE Development
Course offered by JADE, and rewritten them from a Development
rather than a Programming perspective.
I have also developed and delivered two levels of jade certification
(a unique certificate offered by SIT and the first level is used
in the Year 1 SDLC course) to give the students the background
needed to develop their third year projects.
As most of the students use JADE in their third year projects,
I have become a key support person for those students. I have
been involved in such projects as: Stadium Southland Booking System
and an Inventory/POS System for a Jeweller, as well as developing
my own systems such as a Student Management System (since deleted)
and a model answer for the complete Library Information System
required in the Level 2 JADE Certification Course.
I was also involved in the JADEKids programme down here since
2001, and I have worked alongside Gloria McFarlane in delivering
that - although, taking a less direct role this year.
I have taught the UML component of the Year 2 Systems Analysis
and Design course for the last two years - introducing the Rational
Unified Process to BIT students in time for them to use it effectively
in their third year projects. I have incorporated Use Cases and
Class Diagrams as a requirement in both of the Jade Certification
Courses.
