Contribution to Scientific Research

Through working as a field naturalist I have a sound knowledge of marine, terrestrial and riparian environmental systems. My experience has included biological research with Forestry Victoria as a Technical Assistant and with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service (TPWS), as a Ranger Naturalist and Wildlife Officer. In addition I have experience in marine ecological research and monitoring through private employment and as a voluntary research assistant. Through this experience I have established a comprehensive network of professional peers including scientific and technical experts. The following is a detailed list of this experience.

Floral
• Vegetation assessment across Tasmania for TASVEG 2000 Priority vegetation communities for the Fencing Incentive Scheme - Greening Australia;
• Vegetation surveys and mapping of 30 Greening Australia Adopt-a-Patch sites;
• Site management advice to the school based Adopt-a-Patch teams;
• Revegetation including ground preparation, planting, protection installation and irrigation of native species
• Seed collection, storage germination and propagation of native species
