I am seeking to develop a partnership between a university in
China and one of four in the Midwest. The cooperative venture
would provide teachers and courses in China, and opportunities
for teachers and students at the cooperating college in the U
S.
The primary subject areas are business, education (teacher training,)
information technology, and language instruction. The benefits
of a cooperative program are significant. Students in China are
eager for opportunities to learn English. Schools can significantly
enhance their prestige and income with attractive programs.
There are also many difficulties facing a project like this.
These include government regulations, a lack of interest in high
quality programs in favor of quick profit, and a lack of insight
and innovation by school "lao ban" and the wai shi ban.
Nevertheless, I believe the advantages significantly outweigh
the impediments.
Helen's TEFL has developed a wide and credible following in China
as a source for educators. Would you be willing to assist developing
this partnership? Thank you.
