ShaoguanUniversity is located in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. Shaoguan is considered an excellent tourist destination in China. Nearby attractions include DanxiaMountain and NanhuaTemple. DanxiaMountain is the most famous mountain in GuangdongProvince and is one of eight National Geological Parks in the world.NanhuaTemple is 20 kilometers south of Shaoguan and has a history of more than 1,500 years.

ShaoguanUniversity was established in 1958. It has received high honors from the government of China for its beautiful green park-like setting. The attractive well manicured grounds provide a tranquil environment conducive for studying and pleasure. The faculty boasts of experts and scholars who are well known at home and abroad. ShaoguanUniversity is an important innovative and academic center in northern Guangdong. In 2004, it was ranked with China’s top universities when it received honors in literature.

Specialization and ProgramsShaoguan University has 60 specializations, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, business administration etc. An intensive short-term Chinese language training course is also available. II. Additional Programs offered:
· Chinese Language Diploma: Length of schooling is 1 to 2 years. The term begins in September or March each year.
· Bachelor Degree in Chinese Language: Length of schooling is 4 years. The term begins in September or March each year. This course is specially designed for international students.
· Bachelor Degree in other specializations: Length of schooling is 4 years. The term begins in September each year. Foreign students take classes together with Chinese students.
· Intensive Short-term Chinese Language Courses: Students are free to enter the college at any time. The course duration is three months. The object of this course is to assist students to upgrade their language proficiency with intensive study and immersion in the Chinese culture.
III. Prerequisites to Applying for Admission

IV. Application Procedures
1) You can get “Shaoguan University Foreign students application form” from the department of foreign affairs of the university or download it from the website.
2) Please fill in the application form, make copies of valid passport and school certificates and send them to the University’s Department of Foreign Affairs before the registration closing date.
3) The university will deliver “Offer of Place” and “Visa application form for foreign students” (JW 202 forms) to verified enrollees 4 months before course start date.
4) All the foreign students admitted to Shaoguan University must hold the “Offer of Place” and “Visa application form for foreign students” in person for visa entry to China (JW 202 forms) and go to the Chinese embassy or consulate in their country to get the student entry visa to China for studying (X Visa).
5) All the foreign students admitted to Shaoguan University must bring the admission notices and foreign students application forms for entry visa to China (JW 202 forms), and report to Shaoguan University’s Foreign Students Teaching Department on schedule as required in the admission notice. Those who fail to get the student entry visa to China in time may report to the university with a tourist visa (L visa) of more than 1 month’s duration and later change it to the student entry visa with the University’s consent.

Facilities
Basketball courts, tennis courts, football (soccer) fields, stadium, swimming pool, library, café, cafeterias and supermarkets are available on campus. Facilities in dormitories include telephone, air-conditioner, bathroom, broadband Internet access, color TV, washing machine, refrigerator, ward robe, microwave and so on.

B、Meal Expenses
Students may use Golden Dragon Card in all restaurants of the university, and the average cost per day is about 1 USD to 2 USD.

VII. How to get to Shaoguan University 1) Students may arrive directly in Shaoguan from Guangzhou by train, which just takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to the university, or; arrive directly in Shaoguan by bus from the Bus Passenger Terminal of Guangzhou, the bus takes 3 hours.
2) Students may stop at the Shaoguan Railway Station and arrive directly in Shaoguan University by No 7 Route bus or a taxi in approximately 10 minutes. Fare for the bus is RMB 1 and RMB 15 for taxi.
3)The cost for Airport Pick up Service is 50 USD per person.
