  Zhuhai lies in the southern part in Guangdong province. It is not only the economical peculiar area but also the important port. It is 1266 square kilometers in area. The population is 550 thousand.
Zhuhai located at the southern edge of the Zhujiang Delta. In Zhuhai, there is plain, hilly land and terrace area. Along the coast, there are 140 islands, so we call here "Islands City" The western area is covered by a lot of rivers. It is the maritime monsoon climate in the south inferior torrid zone. The average temperature is 22.4 degree Celsius, and the average precipitation is 1,990mm. The black period can last 360 days. About the mineral resources, mainly, there is quartz sand, granite and building sand. Nearby, the Wanshan Fishery is one of the biggest in Guangdong.

Major industries include electronic, communication apparatus, food, chemical industry and textile. And also there is machine, cloth-making, sewing, leather and metallurgical industry. Among them, the products of electronic, communication apparatus, drink and leather goods occupy important positions in China. The foreign capital companies are the most important part of the industry value. In agriculture, mainly, there is rice, sugarcane, tobacco, peanut, fruit, flax, vegetable and aquatic product, etc. The highway and water transport are both convenient. The big ships can be moored here. And Zhuhai and nearly 10 cities in China are open to navigation. It is the most important port for the imports and exports, it is also the important base of rear-service supply for the Nanhai Oil field.

The gulf here is very beautiful. It is full of wonderful mountains, and the climate here is very comfortable. There are lots of places of interest or playground, such as Xiangzhou Gulf, Shuigangtou, Jiuzhoucheng, Seaside Park, Tangjia Port, Lianquan Cave, the International Golf Court and so on. The traditional specialties are crab, lobster, oyster, squid, fruit and flowers.

Airport

 The Zhuhai Airport has flights to dozens of domestic cities such as Beijing (3hrs), Shanghai (2hrs), Chongqing (2hrs) and Haikou (1hr). (See the full list). The airport lies 40 kilometres from downtown, so a trip can cost RMB100 or more. But there is CAAC shuttle bus service to and from the CAAC Office on the intersection of Yuehua Lu and Yingbin Dadao.

Railway station 

  The Guangzhou-Zhuhai railway is under construction. So until now, there is no railway to Zhuhai. But you can still buy Guangzhou tickets in Zhuhai since the ticket offices are hyper-linked, which is convenient if you don't have time to buy a ticket in Guangzhou.

Bus station

137 kilometres south of Guangzhou on the Zhujiang Delta, the city is conveniently connected by highways with other cites around. There are frequent busses to Guangzhou (RMB55), usually with a half an hour interval. Air-conditioned busses head for Beihai (1 daily; RMB110), Shenzhen (frequent; RMB70), Shaoguan (2 daily; RMB78), Shantou (5daily; RMB150), Foshan (3daily; RMB50), Zhongshan (frequent; RMB15), Dongguan (frequent; RMB52) and Panyu (1 daily; RMB39) are also available at the long distance bus station in the Gongbei District.

City transport

   About 30 public bus lines run in Zhuhai at normal service hours from 06:00 to 22:00. Zhuhai taxis (starting price RMB10) are among the most expensive in China. Minibus is an alternative, cheap and fast. There's now also a tourist coach (only RMB2; 15m intervals) which goes from Zhuhai Hotel to The Four Grand Buddhist Mount.Bus #4 runs between the ferry port in Jida and Gongbei (6.30am-9.30pm). All minibuses and buses wind up at one of the three depots within spitting distance of the border crossing.
