Situated off the southern tip of mainland China, Hainan Province is blessed with advantageous geographical location, facing Guangdong Province across the Qiongzhou Strait to the north, adjacent to the Tongkin Gulf and Vietnam to the west, bordering the Luzon Island of the Philippines to the east and opposite to Malaysia and Indonesia to the south. Flying time from Hong Kong to Haikou is approximately 50 minutes.

Hainan has a tropical monsoon and maritime climate, with a temperature range of 22-26℃, and annual rainfall of 1,500- 2,000 millimeters. In Hainan, all seasons are like spring, no sweltering summer or shivering winter. With the forest coverage rate over 50%, Hainan has long been famous for its fresh air, well- preserved nature and the longevity of its people. Combining charming tropical beaches, colorful folk customs, enjoyable hot springs, attractive dining culture, historical sites and scenic spots together, Hainan represents a rare tourist, vacationing and recreation resort.

Thanks to Hainan’s long history and the harmonious co-habitation of its 37 ethnic groups, many rustic traditions and simple custom are well preserved. Foreign experts are warmly welcome to work in Hainan by the Hainan Provincial Government and employment institutions. Convenient working and living conditions will be provided for them. Foreign experts working in Hainan not only can enjoy the excellent natural and living environment here, but also will receive warm welcome from its friendly people.

As the local governmental department in charge of foreign experts working in Hainan Province, Hainan Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs takes the responsibility of approving the qualification of host institutions to employ foreign experts and thereafter supervising the related work. Besides, HPBFEA also serves as supervisor of and provides conveniences to foreign experts working in Hainan.

Hainan Association for International Exchange of Personnel is a subordinate organization to the Hainan Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, which provides service to the public. We have been endeavoring to invite foreign experts to Hainan for academic instruction, lectures or other cooperation, as well as providing consultancy as on policies. HAIEP serves for the purpose of building a bridge between foreign experts and their employers.

Along with its further opening up to the outside world, Hainan has made tremendous headway in its economic development and cultural progress. The demand for foreign cultural and educational experts in Hainan has been on rapid expansion. At present, there are 50 approved institutions in Hainan that are qualified to employ foreign cultural and educational experts (including college, high school, primary school, kindergarten, training centre and other educational institutions ), which employ about 200 experts each year.

To improve and standardize the employment work of foreign experts, and to alleviate the shortage of foreign teachers, HPBFEA hereby provides employment opportunities for all foreign cultural and educational experts who intend to work in Hainan. Foreign professionals no more than 60 years old, holding bachelor’s degrees or above, and having more than two years experience in related fields, with sound health and clean criminal record, can look for posts in education, scientific research, press, culture, arts, health care and sports in Hainan through HPBFEA and HAIEP.

After preliminary acceptance, more documents will be required:

1. Scanned copy of completed Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (Obtain this form from the Chinese Embassy or any Consulate in your country. Using this form, make a medical examination in your local hospital. Typically, both the signature of the doctor and stamp from the hospital are required.)

2. Recommendation letters from your boss, or a professor (associate professor) who taught or worked with you and know you well

3. Scanned copy of your passport

4. Scanned copy of your marriage certificate if your family members are going with you.
