Hebei Professional College of Politics and Law originates from Hebei Construction College founded in 1947, under the leadership of the first Governor of Hebei Province. In 1954, it was transformed into Hebei Cadre School of Politics and Law. The college started the diplomatic education for adults in 1983 and vocational education in 1999. In 2004, the college improved its comprehensive quality by incorporating Hebei School of Forestry. In the following year, it passed the evaluation organized by China Educational Ministry.

The college lies in Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province. It owns 4 campuses with an area of more than 1,400 mu: two on Xuefu Road, another in Zhengding, an ancient city to Shijiazhuang, the rest new one on Youyi Street. There are a lot of modernized teaching facilities as multi-media classrooms, electronic reading rooms, computer centers and language labs, etc, as well as 3 libraries with 410,000 books.

At present, the college consists of 23 majors and a law major for adults. They involve Law Science, Lawyers’ Practice, International Economic Law, Judicial Secretary, Applied English Language, Business English, Legal English, Informational Technology, E-business, International Science and Trade, Security, Community Management, Travel and Hotel Management, Garden Science, Marketing, etc. So far, there are about 9,000 on-campus students. Over the past 50 years the college has been persisting in the theory of “Basing on college, facing society”, having educated over 60,000 policemen and lawyers and more than 10,000 three-year college students in economics, management, computing, English language and son on.

There are about 700 teachers including 123 professors and associate professors. Many of them are Masters, experienced lawyers, engineers, or economists. What’s more, part of them are well-known experts and scholars in Hebei Province. At the same time, the college has employed some famous experts and scholars from other provinces and overseas.
