HIFL is the qualified college authorized by China Education Department to employ foreign teachers and provide them Z-Visas. For many years, HIFL has now become such a college consisting of three campuses which are Nan-Gang Campus located at the downtown of Nan-Gang District, Harbin City, and Dong-Li Campus located at the old industrial base in Dong-Li District, Harbin City, and Yu-Quan Campus located at Yu-Quan Town, Harbin City, near Yu-Quan International Hunting Center. And HIFL is becoming the main college in the north of China for educating persons with foreign trade and foreign communion and translation with each passing day. HIFL was listed in China Famous Private Schools in 2002, and China Excellent Private Schools Collection in 2003, and China Famous Private Schools Directory in 2004.
HIFL keeps many professors and scholars, who are excellent in the areas of foreign languages and literatures and cultures and translation with very high academic fames in societies. They have achieved many high level productions in their own teaching and research in recent ten years, and have made important contribution for HIFL’s teaching and research and subject establishment and development. Many of them have played roles of academic leaders of those same subjects in Heilongjiang Province with high fame in their academic areas. HIFL has organized high-level teachers group with reasonable structure and clear administrative levels for working of many years, now has 238 staff members, twenty-one of which are professors and sixty-eight of which are lecturers. In addition, HIFL has foreign specialists or foreign teachers from the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ireland, Korea and Japan, etc. And HIFL has established relations of academic cooperation and communion with some educational organizations in several countries or regions. |
HIFL founded English-French Teaching Department and Russian-German Teaching Department and Japanese-Korean Teaching Department under the Institute Affair Committee and the Institute Academic Committee. HIFL established the specialities such as English, Russian, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Arabian and Chinese for foreigner. With teaching and practice in foreign languages for many years, and according to Chinese particularity in learning foreign languages, HIFL created HIFL Mother Tongue Teaching Method through Pictures combining the Mother Tongue Teaching Method from England and the Picture Teaching Method from the English Research Society in U.S., which changed thoroughly those traditional teaching methods through reforming thinking so that it has been recognized by linguists.
