Introduction

We are eager to cooperate with 2 responsible, dedicated, energetic, and creative full-time teachers who can assist our students in learning English.

We currently support three levels of classes for children: Kindergarten, Young and Regular the age group of which is respectively from 4-6, 7-9, 10-13. We are using series of textbooks for different levels of students for classroom use.

The maximum number of students in each U-shape classroom is 15（K-class）to 20（Y or R-class）.The children come to Joy twice a week to have four hours lesson. Each class is divided into two hours: the Chinese teacher teaches one hour and the foreign teacher teaches the second. Most of the classes are in the evenings of workdays from 4:30—6:30 or in the daytime of Saturdays and Sundays. This leaves you a relatively large amount of free time to do what you like during the days.

A History Of Joy

MudanjiangJoy School was founded in July, 2003. Now, with over 300 students and most-highly-reputation, it is currently the leading children's language school in Mudanjiang.

About Mudanjiang

Mudanjiang is the No.3 big city of Heilongjiang province and it is also an important northern pivot even the entire China. Mudanjiang is a beautiful city in Northeast China, surrounded by mountainous foothills. The lovely Mudan River runs through the city and its promenades provide scenic strolling and cultural opportunities such as Jingpo Lake, Ningguta ancient city ruins and etc. The city of Mudanjiang is famous for its snow sculptures. In winter people from the entire world come to the city to enjoy the ice and snow recreation of Mudanjiang Area. The frankness and friendly character of the people are also well known.

What’s more, cost of living in Mudanjiang is extremely low. While you enjoy a wonderful life here, it is very easy for our teachers to save more money to tour China in your free time.

EXPECTATIONS

Teachers are not expected to prepare their own lesson plans. Joy provides a teacher's manual that covers every unit of every book, making preparation an easy task. The classes are laid out using a preferred Joy method, which allows classes and teachers to maintain consistency. Teachers will put in 4 hours a week to prepare the lessons for the following week.

Joy provides an initial and on-going training session including videos, observations and live classroom sessions. As well, workshops aimed at helping our teachers improve are held on a monthly basis.

WHAT WE OFFER

SALARY

Teachers will receive 6000RMB/month for a maximum of 96 working hours a month (around 24hrs a week). Hours worked over 96 per month are considered overtime and will be paid an extra 80RMB/hour. The four office hours used to prepare the following weeks lessons are unpaid.
Teachers will get a rise of 1000RMB for each extension of the contract to a ceiling of 9000RMB.

FREE CHINESE LESSONS
We will offer free Chinese lessons (once a week) to our teachers.

HOLIDAYS

There are four main holidays that are recognized by Joy: Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), Labor Day, Joy's Summer Holiday, and the National Day Holiday. Each holiday is roughly between one and two weeks long. Relative to when your contract is initiated, the first two holidays are unpaid and the following two are paid.

During the work week every teacher will receive Monday off. Depending on how your hours are scheduled, you may or may not receive more than one day off a week.

LIVING

Joy will provide your Z (working) visa, residents permit, foreign expert certificate and emergency medical insurance.

We will provide you with a single rent-free apartment. The apartment will be furnished and will include a western-style toilet, washing machine, cable TV, DVD player, telephone with free local calls, refrigerator, microwave oven, rice cooker, water dispenser, computer with a free ADSL hookup and etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for Canadian, American or British native English speakers. The candidate should have a bachelor degree in any field, as well as an ESL teaching certificate.
