The Gate of Anyang Institute of Technology

Anyang Institute of Technology is located at Anyang city. Anyang is situated in the northernmost part of Henan Province, 4 hours to the south of Beijing, 2 hours north of the international airport of Zhengzhou by car. Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway pass through the city. Anyang, is one of China's seven ancient capitals and a state-grade famous historic and cultural city, the cradle of the earliest Chinese characters, Jiaguwen (the inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells), bronze wares etc.. The modern Henan Ancai Group Co. Ltd., the largest one in the same line all over the world, is in Anyang. The world-renowned "Heavenly River"--Red Flag Canal, praised as the "World's Eighth Wonder", is also in Anyang. Anyang covers an area of 7,354 square kilometers and has a population of 5.18 million.

A Teaching Building

Anyang Institute of Technology, equipped with almost perfect teaching and living facilities, covers an area of more than 1500 mu. In Taihang Gorge, a state-grade attractive scenery region, it has also a site of 200 mu beside the Red Flag Canal for fine art sketch and biology experiment. Its building area is more than 208,000 square meters. Seven thousand full-time students are studying on the campus. The number of the teachers is 325, including, 128 professors and associate professors, 140 holders of master's degree certificates and 12 holders of doctor's degree certificates.

There are 38 specialties and 19 teachingdivisions in Mechanical Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Chemical Engineering Department, Computer Engineering Department, Architecture Engineering Department, Trade and Economy Department, Management Engineering Department, Social Science Department, Finance Department, Foreign Languages Department, Art and Design Department, Agriculture Engineering Department, Farming & Veterinary Department, Gardens & Horticulture Department, Basic Courses Division, P. E. Division, Adult Education Division, Experiment Center and Net Center. There are 90 laboratories, 1000 computers, 13 teaching practice bases on the campus and 86 stable practice bases outside. Many modern teaching centers can be found here, such as Drivers Training Center, LAN, modern CAD Training Center, Multimedia Classrooms, Digital Audio and Visual Rooms. There are also 23 labs built up cooperatively with large enterprises and institutes of science and research in Anyang. Its library covers 9000 square meters, with the capacity of 1.38 million volumes of various kinds of books( including electronic books) and more than 1600 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals in it. The advanced digital library, LAN, Audio & Visual Reading-rooms have also been introduced and put into use. DDD in every bright room of the student dormitories connects every corner all over the country. The standard playground, football playgrounds, volleyball playgrounds, tennis playgrounds, etc., meet the need of the students and teachers. The lake, the grass and the trees found a suitable environment for studying.
