Zhengzhou Health School, known as Zhengzhou
(ZHS) Junior Medical College founded in 1951, is one of the state key
secondary specialized schools. It is located in Zhengzhou, the capital
of Henan Province, the center of the politics, economy, culture and
transportation. Zhengzhou is the most important railway hub in China-Longhai
and Jingguang railway lines meet here, the center of the highway network
for the whole country, and there is a large modern "Zhengzhou International
Airport." So it’s very convenient for you to study, work,
travel and stay here!
ZHS covers a total area of over 50,000 square meters, well-known for
its garden campus with pleasant shade everywhere and the magnificent
night scene. There're various laboratories in the experimental building
such as laboratories for basic courses like physics, chemistry, biology,
biochemistry, laboratories for clinical courses like physiology, anatomy,
general nursing, internal medicine, surgery and 3 language laboratories,
including two digital multi-media ones, for English learning. ZHS has
also built up the computer center, electronic teaching center, multi-media
classrooms, electronic reading-room, exhibition hall for medical specimen
on display and modern teaching installations for distance education.
All the above is equipped with complex of advanced facilities. The newly-built
library, auditorium, campus radio station, dining hall. All the classrooms
are installed with circuit TV system, which guarantee the electronic
teaching. The broad campus computer network (more than 300 computers)
has been connected with Internet, providing an easy way of information
exchange with the outside world.
At present, ZHS has over 120 professional teachers, including 47 senior
lecturers and 56 lecturers, quite a number of whom are noted for their
outstanding academic achievement. An efficient faculty of teaching and
scientific research, comprising young and middle-aged has come into
being.
ZHS has made encouraging progress in academic research and medical development.
It has undertaken more than 35 programs, of which 28 programs have gained
prizes by government. 19 teachers play an important role in provincial
or state academic associations. A lot of teachers undertake the editor
of works and teaching materials. 285 books have been published of which
more than 20 teachers take on chief-editors. Some of them have been
invited to work as the chief-editors of the systematic textbook by the
state Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Education, etc.
Aiming at training qualified professionals in medicine and nursing,
ZHS enrolls students on a national scale by offering teaching programs
in different forms to students of different levels. There're 2 associate
programs—Advanced Nursing and Clinical Medicine. Meanwhile, it
offers about 10 secondary specialties—English Nursing, Midwifery,
Maternal and Child Hygiene, Nursing, Community Medicine, Health Care,
Acupuncture and Massage Physiotherapy, Combination of Traditional Chinese
and Western Medicine, Rehabilitation Technology and Optical Technology.
Presently ZHS has a total enrollment of over 4,680 full-time students.
 ZHS
is the pioneer of English Nursing education in Henan. English nursing
major is a key specialty of the school. Every year a batch of students
are selected from hundreds of candidates based on the results of entrance
exam. The courses offered to the students are divided into the following:
English, basic science, nursing theory and clinical unit/teaching, etc.
English language programs are available for over 1,000 hours, and aim
to provide the students with the English kills necessary to pursue services
of hospitals and health institutions, and to cultivate knowledge, cultural
familiarization and language skills to integrate into English speaking
countries. And, the students of English nursing major can succeed in
reaching Band 4 or 6, CET at the end of the 2nd school year.
 Nursing
courses are designed to provide a board-based program for students to
become Registered Nurses. It aims to develop skills and knowledge to
offer care and support to the sick. The course includes components of
practical experience and clinical placement.
The medical education, esp. nursing education of ZHS has been arousing
great interest, concern and approval of education and medicine &
Health Care institutions both domestic and abroad. Up to now, over 10
foreign experts and scholars have paid visits to ZHS and conferred with
us on the cooperation with them. Furthermore the cooperative programs
with Britain, U.S.A, Australia, etc. have been carrying out smoothly
and successfully.
In order to enlarge the international exchange widely and share the
educational resources and achievement, ZHS is expecting that more educational
institutions abroad, which intend to take up medical education, come
to confer with us on the cooperation.

A. Cooperative (target) orientation
To seek for the cooperation with the medical colleges/universities and
colleges/universities which have the same or similar medical specialties.
esp. Nursing/Health Care.
B. Cooperative way
1. Diploma In Nursing/Health Care, etc.
The first 2-3years, the students enrolled by our school study all the
courses of Nursing/Health Care in our school, and then go to your school
for further/advanced studies on them for 1-2 years. In this way, the
students will obtain the diplomas and bachelor degrees which are recognized
by both governments of China and the country of cooperative schools
from both your school and ours after they have studied and passed all
the examinations, including theory, practical experience and clinical
placement for 4-5 years in both schools. And the teachers can be sent
to our school to teach/instruct students in a short/long term. What's
more, the textbook/teaching materials can be imported according to the
requirement of the teaching on the majors. Meanwhile both schools can
exchange teachers. i.e. English language & professional teachers
so as to train the qualified graduates majoring in the corresponding
specialties.
2. Jointly Intensive Training Courses
Train intensively the students, who have finished the programs in Nursing,
Health Care, acupuncture and massage physiotherapy, combination of traditional
Chinese and western medicine, in great need of specialties in your country;
in accordance with the cooperative standard for Health Care Aide, Assistant
Nurse, Registered Nurse, etc., give lectures on specialized courses
and English language and Sandwich Courses in the country of cooperative
schools (a combination of study, vocational training, English language
tuitions and work placement); help them to hunt jobs in the hospital,
nursing house, and rest home after they have passed them and got the
corresponding cooperative certificates.
On the principles of legality, equality, mutual benefit
and development, and exchanging what one has for what one needs, Zhengzhou
