Zhumadian Teachers College, founded in 1972, lies in Zhumadian city, Henan Province. The city boasts its regional advantages and convenient transport with Beijing--Guangzhou line, Beijing--Zhuhai Expressway, State Routes No.106 and 107 going through the zone as well as provincial highways and country crossing the whole district. The Xinzheng International Airport, is 2 hours driving from here.

Within the district are many places of interest and historic sites like Chaya Mountain, Boshan Reservoir,Beiquan temple, and LongMen Caves in Luoyang and ancient capital city, Kaifeng are only 3 hours by train.

The newly built college has an area of 2,087mu and the floor space occupies 199,000 square meters of which the constriction area total attached to them. The total value of instrument and equipment is 29,590,000 Yuan by estimate. It has 622,000 books and 1451 kinds of journals and magazines in the library. There are 12 professors and 1,125 associate professors among a total of 4,113 full---time staff members. Of this facility, 3 have doctor's degree and 163 have master's degree, besides, we have engaged as visiting professors an academician of CAS 19 doctorate supervisors from famous universities of the county. The present member of enrolled students has already run up to 5,500. English department is the largest one among the 13 departments of the college with about 1,500 students.

The college has been recruiting foreign teachers since 1990. We have rich experience to provide nice environment for our foreign teachers. The college will become a four-year university next year and is eager to have more foreign teachers and also to build relationship with schools abroad as sister schools.
