| Xiangnan University is a normal public comprehensive university specializing in teachers training and medical science, It was promoted in April 2003 based on the previous Chenzhou Teachers College, Chenzhou Medicine College and Chenzhou Teachers Training Institute. The university lies in Chenzhou, a city in the South part of Hunan Province. Chenzhou is a newly built tourist city which is famous for its mountains, forests, caves, hot waters, lakes etc. and above all, fresh air of the mother nature .The transportation of the city is very convenient. The main railway of China--- (Bei) Jing-Guang (Dong) line and the (Bei) Jing-Zhu (Hai) Expressway pass through the center of the city. Trains, buses, and planes nearby can lead you to all directions in a very short time. The university covers an area of 1470 mu with 365,000 square meters of building space. It consists of 15 Dapartments which offer 36 specialties covering fields of literature, art, languages, medicine, science, economics, management, law, and education. It has an enrollment of over 8000 full-time students from most of the provinces in China. So far, over 30000 graduates have been brought up here. The university has a teaching faculty of over 500, including 53 professors and 202 assistant professors. Among them, 184 have got a Doctor’s or Master degree, every year nearly 50 part-time or visiting professors are also invited to work in the university. The library has a collection of over 650,000 volumes, the whole university possesses an asset of teaching facilities and equipment over 30 million RMB Yuan. Welcome to Chenzhou!
