Shaoyang No.3 Middle School(Shaoyang Foreign Language School)

Shaoyang No.3 Middle School(also named Shaoyang Foreign Language School), located in the city center of Shaoyang in Hunan province, has operated under the supervision of Shaoyang Education Bureau. Its campus covers a total area of more than 70 hectares, in a floor space of roughly 20,000 square meters with educational facilities. It is equipped with the most advanced facilities, including the modern office building, teaching buildings, lab buildings, a library, a multimedia education classroom , and students' apartments as well as a field playground with a 400-metre track. Various labs such as physics, chemistry, biology, language labs are established in line with the national standards. A professional doctor and nursing staff are available round the clock to ensure students' health and safety.

The teaching staffs are around 150. The school is also equipped with a team of teachers of intermediate or high professional titles and excellent young teachers. Of all the teachers, 26 hold special grade or high professional title, and 68 bear intermediate professional title. In particular, a large contingent of young and mi- ddle-aged teachers have taken shape in recent years, who are inspired with an innovative and pioneering spirit, good at following the frontier development in ed- ucation for junior students and senior students. There are 40 classes and more th- an 2,500 students in the school .

Shaoyang Education Bureau approved Shaoyang No.3 Middle School to be the only foreign language school in Shaoyang city in August, 2002. Not only do we finish the conventional curriculums but also we strengthen the English courses. We seek to capitalize on the enthusiasm and creativity of the middle school students by fostering an interest in language and culture that can last a lifetime. Our foreign language curriculum is designed to motivate, energize and sensitize students to other cultures. There are 2 foreign teachers working here every year. The students can receive the external education. Besides, it's helpful for students to enter the foreign languages colleges.
