Fashion Department

Fashion department is the key specialty of Ministry of Education with rich experiences and high reputation. It has the following programs: fashion art design, fashion project, fashion show, and dyeing and weaving art design.

Fashion department has more than 1000 registered students, about 30 professional teachers and a separate multi-functional and exquisitely decorated teaching building as large as 20,000 square meters with fashion show exhibition hall, model training center, fashion design workroom, dyeing art and homespun fabric workroom, fashion technology workroom and professional CAD computer lab in it.

Currently it has four teaching and research offices boasting qualified teachers and advanced teaching equipments: fashion design, fashion project, dyeing and weaving design, and fashion show. Over 99% students from fashion department could obtain employment after graduation. And thanks to graduates’ endeavor, some of them have founded their own companies, or become the chief designer at large enterprises in Yangtze Delta and Zhujiang Delta; more than 10% of graduates have become pioneering stars in their own fields. Their efforts and achievements are highly praised by society and industries concerned.

Fashion Design

Educational objectives:
This specialty cultivates the modern advanced vocational technology talents who possess fashion design ability; keen fashion innovation ability and brand-foundation and development ability.

Education duration:
Three years for graduates of senior middle school, five years for graduates of junior middle school.

Fashion Design (orientated towards fashion design technology)

Educational objectives:
This specialty cultivates the modern advanced technological and administrative talents who possess fashion management ability, keen fashion project masterminding ability, fashion design ability, and templet-making ability.

Education duration:
Three years for graduates of senior middle school, five years for graduates of junior middle school.

Main courses:
Fashion Fabrics, Fashion Technics, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Enterprise Management, Fashion Import-export Operation, Fashion Templet-making, Fashion Fabric Design, Fashion CAD, Fashion Design Technology (bilingual), Fashion Design, and Three-dimensional Cutting.

Fashion Design/International Trade

Educational objectives:
This specialty cultivates the following advanced practical talents in garment area who meet certain intellectual standard and have certain artistic accomplishment; who have modern management and supervision concept of garment enterprise; who have masterminding ability of garment production project and the ability of carrying out foreign trade and garment import-export businesses.

Education duration:
Four years for graduates of senior middle school.

Fashion Show

Educational objectives:
This specialty cultivates the following advanced practical talents who meet certain intellectual standard and have certain artistic accomplishment; who have a better body image and temperament; who master certain basic theory of fashion performance and professional skills; and who have a deep understanding of model agent, image design and directing.

Education duration:
3 years for graduates of senior middle school, 5 years for graduates of junior middle school.

Figural Design

Educational objectives:
This profession cultivates the talents for the following fields: figure image design, models sculpt design, fashion design, publicist and performance in related companies.

Education duration:
2 years for graduates of senior middle school, 5 years for graduates of junior middle school.

Career expectation:
Graduates are expected to work in the following fields: model agent, image masterminding, and fashion brand masterminding.

Dyeing and Weaving Art Design

Educational objectives:
This profession cultivates the innovative and practical talents who meet certain intellectual and artistic standards; who are provided with modern theory and skill of dyeing and weaving art and varied ability of designing fabric pattern; and who are quite familiar with related design software.

Education duration:
3 years for graduates of senior middle school.

Fabric Decoration Art Design

Educational objectives:
This profession cultivates the innovative and practical talents who meet certain intellectual and artistic standards; who are provided with theory and skill of modern domestic textile product design; who comprehend varied pattern design and textile material; and who are quite familiar with related design software.

Education duration:
3 years for graduates of senior middle school.
