Department of Art

The Art Department was established in the 1980s. It has five majors: Interior Design, Landscape Design, Sculpture Design, Mold Design and Animation Design.

The department has more than 20 classes with an enrollment of over 600 students. There are four offices under the department: Interior Design, Landscape Design, Mold Design and Foundations of Art. The department has high-quality teaching staff and facilities, and a well-equipped teaching building on the new campus of the College Town. It covers an area of 20,000 square meters, and includes art galleries, art libraries, ceramics studios, sculpting studios, painting rooms, multi-functional rooms, photography studios, computer rooms for graphic design, etc.

Our graduates are all warmly received in the job market and their works often win provincial, even national prizes. It has become one of the most promising departments in the institute so the leaders of our college put great emphasis on it.

Sculpture Design

Education Objective:
To cultivate senior technical talents with certain quality in culture and art. The students are provided with modern sculpture theory and techniques and innovative ability, and are able to undertake the jobs like sculpture design, facture, and management, etc.

Education duration :
3 years for senior high school graduates, 5 years for junior high school graduates, credit system adopted

Main Courses:
Round Sculpture, Relief, Brick-carving, Woodcarving, Ornament Chinaware, and Applied Computer Science.

Career Expectation:
The graduates should be able to work in these fields: Manufacturing enterprises of furniture, chinaware, toys and alike, environment design companies, construction and decoration companies, art-crafts companies.

Environment Art Design

Education Objectives:
To cultivate senior practical talents with certain qualities in culture and art. Graduates will be equipped with knowledge and skills to work in the fields of residence environment design, commercial environment design, landscape design, furniture design, engineering cartography, CAD, and they will develop the ability in innovation and have team spirit.

Educational duration:
3 years for senior high school graduates, 5 years for junior high school graduates.

Main courses:
Interior Design, Commercial Design, Landscape Design, Engineering Cartography, Design Exhibition, and Applied Computer Science, etc.

Career Expectations:
The graduates should be able to work in these fields: construction and decoration companies of small, mediate or large scales, house decoration companies, planning and designing departments for city construction and landscape, etc.

Decoration Art Design (orientated towards Visual Transmission)

Education Objectives:
To cultivate senior practical talents with certain quality in culture and art. Students should be familiar with decoration, advertisement, packaging, bookbinding design, CI design, CAD, multi-media application, being armed with the ability of innovation and cooperation.

Education duration:
3 years for senior high school graduates, 5 years for junior high school graduates.

Main courses:
Advertisement Design, Packaging Design, CI Design, Format Design, Commercial Painting, Foundation of Computer Graph, Web Page Design, etc.

Career Expectation:
The graduates should be able to work in these fields: design and facture section of decoration and advertising company of small, mediate or large scales, facture and launch section and operation section of press and mass media.

Computer Art Design

Education Objectives:
To cultivate originative senior technical talents or head of originality with certain quality in culture and art. Students should acquire professional knowledge about three-dimension animation, web page facture, art design, commercial advertisement, photography, etc., and have access to several mass mediums.

Educational duration:
3 years for senior high school graduates, 5 years for junior high school graduates.

Main courses:
Animation Sculpting Design, Cartoon Iconography Design, Multi-media Technology of Network, Short Movie Design and Facture, Commercial Design, Computer-aided Art Design, Flash Technology, Web Page Design, etc.

Career Expectation:
The graduates should be able to work in these fields: animation companies, TV station, advertising companies, culture design companies and other design and facture sections of animation and image.

Art Design / Marketing

Education Objective:
To cultivate senior practical talents with certain quality in culture and art. Students should be familiar with advertisement design, enterprise image planning, design and packaging, sample design, brand launching, marketing-spread-planning, network development, CAD, management operation, being provided with the ability of innovation and cooperation.
