Introduction
Jurong
High School of Jiangsu Province is among the first of the provincial
key schools.Founded in 1926, it has a history of nearly 80 years.In
the recent years, under the correct leadership of the municipal Party
committee and the municipal government and with the powerful support
of interrelated departments ,all kinds of work have got outstanding
achievements through all the teaching and administrative staffs'hard
work. At present, the school has 36 classes, 1851 students,186 teaching
and administrative staffs in all, including 51 high-ranking teachers,51
municipal key teachers and leading teachers.37 members have got master's
degrees or are post graduate students and correspondent post graduate
students. We have five provincial and municipal model workers.The present
headmaster Zhoujun was conferred as "Model Worker of Jiangsu Province"
and appointed as the first batch of "Noted Headmaster" by Zhenjiang
municipality. The school always sticks to the ideal of "Basing on students
and putting moral education before others" and it lays stresses on teachers
and students virtues. It has formed an outstanding system of moral education.
In
1998 and 2000,it was named twice as Civilized Unit of Jiangsu Province
by the provincial government.In the recent years,the school has been
granted more than 50 glorious titles such as "Model School Of Jiangsu
Province", "Advanced Moral Education School Of Jiangsu Province", "Advanced
Collective of Party Construction of Jiangsu Province", "Safe and Civilized
Unit of Jiangsu Province", "Advanced School of Carrying out Physical
Education and Health Education Rules" of Jiangsu Province, Advanced
Patriotic Health Collective. For a long time, the school always insists
on the core of implementing quality education, and it has achieved great
success. Since 1996, graduates like Wang Jiaqian, Zhang yunru, Xia Feipeng,
Wu chen, Tan Wenwen, Wang Xiaoqing have won number one in Zhenjiang
area in the annual national college entrance examination.The proportion
of students'entering universities has been among the best successful
schools of Jiangsu Province.The school pays great attention to teachers'development
and educational research.In recent years, middle-aged and young teachers
have all passed tests of standard Chinese, modern education skills,
professional titles, stratified English and computers. In their spare
time, they devote much time to educational research. More than 25 educational
books have been published,in which teachers in our school worked as
chief editors or main writers.More than 200 theses got published in
newspapers or magazines and another 110 got prizes of different degrees.The
school has finished or is doing 20 municipal subject research,including
3 national subjects,3 provincial subjects and 14 municipal subjects.
At the beginning of 1999,the school was the first to open its management
affairs to the public.The school regards it as way to improve democratic
politics,perfect school democratic management and democratic supervision
and push forward the advanced policy of managing the school by law.
Now

is well thought of by defferent related provincial and municiple departments.The
school was appointed as Advanced collective of Opening the School (Enterprises)
Management Affairs to Public of Jiangsu Province, "Advanced Unit of
Educational Union three-year-plan of Jiangsu Province", "Zhengjiang
Advanced Workers'Home", Advanced Collective for Rush to be the Civilized
Employees Activity of Zhengjiang. In the new century, the school meets
with the unprecedented opportunity. In order to meet the demands of
development of time, the school has decided to carry strategic plan
for futures development.Today, a new campus with an area of 220 mu,and
construction area reaching as large as 50,000 square meters is being
built which is expected to be completed and come into use next term.All
