Introduction
 

Jiangsu Province Yangzhong Senior Middle School, founded in 1946, is one of the first qualified key middle schools in Jiangsu Province. In April 2000, it was acknowledged by Jiangsu Provincial Education Department to have almost reached the standards for a national model senior middle school. It has a teaching staff of 187 and over 1581 students divided into 31senior classes. The school covers an area of 92600 square metres, of which the construction area is about 43400 square metres. The Science Building which is about 4379 square metres, the multi-function stadium which is about 5078 square metres, and the art building which is about 5788 square metres have been set up in the past few years. The library has a collection of 70,000 volumes.

The campus is agreeable and elegant. The Teaching Area, the Living Area, the Activity Area and the Factory Area stand distinctively. Cement roads join different parts of the school. Gardens and lawns stand against each other. Bridges over flowing rivers, fountains and blooming flowers all add to the beauty of the school. The school sticks to the directing of carrying out the Party's policy, facing all the students and developing the student's qualities in an all-round way. It has abided by the school motto Seeking the truth and formed the school mode Be civilized, realistic and pioneering, the teaching style Be strict, practical and innovative, the studying style Be diligent, sown-to-earth and enterprising, and the management mode Unite, be practical and honest. They try their best to seek their own way of quality education and have gradually developed the course frame Improve the required courses, strengthen the activity courses and emphasize the labor and art education. They are firm in vitalizing education through scientific research and developing the school through educational research.

They have made full use of the research program group, the teaching and research group and the lesson-preparing group, encouraging originality and the ability of practice. The school has laid great emphasis on the construction of the teachers, especially the 135 Project, the Green and Blue Project and the Famous Teacher Project. There are 47 teachers with the high-ranking technical titles and 3 teachers with the title of special classification.
