Jiangsu Lishui Senior Middle School was established in 1933,which has a history of 69 years.In 1980, it was denominated "One of the First Preferential Key Middle Schools in Jiangsu Province" by the government of Jiangsu Province.In 1992,it was reconfirmed as "One of the First Key Middle Schools in Jiangsu Province".Since its establishment, especially since the policy of opening to the outside world was adopted,the school has trained thousands of students of high quality for the society with all the teachers'efforts and the correct and wise leadership of the government Moreover,it has fully displayed its experimental,model and influential roles. In 1997,it was denominated as the "Advancing School in Moral Training in Jiangsu" At different stages of time ,it was approved as the "Nanjing Characteristic School in Scientific and Technological Education", "Nanjing Education Science Research Base", "Jiangsu Experimental School for Modern Educational Technology", "Nanjing Characteristic School in Track and Field". Moreover,the party committee of the school was named as the "Meritorious Party Branch in Building Nanjing",the "Advancing Group in Building the Party among the Primary and Middle Schools inJiangsu". During August 18-23,2002,the 8th National Sports Meeting for Middle school Students(Track and Field) was successfully held in Lishui Senior Middle School. In order to make full use of the excellent resources of running the school and meet people's increasing requirements of excellent education and fully embody its role in experiment,setting an example and influence,in June,1999,the local government decided that Lishui Junior Middle School should be separated from Lishui Senior Middle School and Lishui Senior Middle School should be built in a new place and try to be one of the 1000 National Model Schools.After two years of hard work,a completely new school,occupying 200 mu,whose total cost amounts to nearly 100 million yuan has been established to the standard that all the facilities are advanced,functions are complete and the enviorment is excellent.The school is supposed to be 42 classes in all with 14 classes in each grade.The new school was completed in May,2001 and was put into operation in July,2001.At present,the school has a junior section and a senior section.It is made up of 73 classes ,4300 students and 274 teachers and workers. Regarding teaching and educational quality,the school's junior and senior graduates have been doing better and better with the care ,concern and the guide of various leaders and the efforts of all the teachers and the workers.The enrollment rate of the college students and the enrollment rate of the first rank university students are both among the first rank among Nanjing middle schools.In 2000,the school's graduates Ye Xin and Zhu ming-jie took the second and the sixth in the science section in the entrance examination of Jiangsu Province.In 2001,3 graduates of the school were enrolled by Qing Hua University and Beijing University.40 students were enrolled by Nanjing University,Fudan University Shanghai Communication University and other first rank universities in China.In 2002,31 gradudates of the school got more than 600 in the national entrance examination.
