Introduction
 

Sanjiang University (SJU) is the first private institution of higher education in Jiangsu Province, P. R. China. SJU is located in the historic and cultural city of Nanjing, which was the capital city of six ancient dynasties of China and is the capital city of JiangSu province. The University consists of 13 academic departments: English, Japanese, Chinese, Business Management, Law, Tourism, Computer Science and Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electronic Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Scheme. SJU has a student body of about 7000 including 1300 students in Continued Education School.

SJU boasts a well-qualified faculty 550 which includes380 teaching staff. The campus occupies an area of more than 20 hectares, its buildings have 100,000 square meters of floor space. The library has a total collection of about 200,000 books and subscribes to more than 650 kinds of newspapers and periodicals in Chinese and in foreign languages.

University has seven laboratories for various specialties and six computer laboratories with 607 computers, language laboratories, multimedia classrooms and electrical audio-visual teaching centers. The 25,000 square meter modern sports ground can hold large-scale sports games. Organization of the University SJU adopts the leadership system with the president responsible to the board of trustees. The president of the board is professor Qian Zhonghan (member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). The president of sju is professor Tao Yongde.
