Introduction to Haimen Middle School Haimen Middle School Jiangsu Province
was founded in 1912,among the earliest registered schools of that day.
In 1956 the school was chosen as one of the first provincial key middle
schools, and first passed the check and acceptance of the state model
senior schools in 1998. With a long history, a deep cultural inside
information and a surprising progress of running a school, the school
now has 299 teaching staff, of whom there are 230 professional teachers,
2 teachers of specail classification, 68 senior teachers and 81 middle-class
teachers. In all there are 35 classes in senior and 28 classes in junior,
and 3548 students, with a total compus area of 188 mu, among which there
are 65,000m2 of building area.
 The
school library has more than 80,000 books. The school total estate reaches
70.45 million yuan. During the long-term educational practice, the school
has formed the excellent school spirit: wide knowledge & loyal action;
teaching spirit: strictness and accuracy; learning spirit: profoundness
& perseverance and school motto: pursuit of truth & actual effects.
All the teachers and students in this school are pursuing excellence
and advocating the initiative, while the school leaders are following
the laws of education, deepening the reformation of deucation, marching
on quality education and starting the teaching modernization, high quality
and demonstration. Since 1990 the school has been given more than 21
honours (provincial or above), such as Advanced School for Moral Education,
Scientific Research, PT Mass Work, Labour-Skill Education, Green-Making
Work, Beautiful Compus, Model Computerized Education, etc. of Jiansu
Province, and National Advanced School for Work-Study Programme, Model
Computerized Education and PT Education. Besides, the school, was given
the title of Provincial Civilized Unit for successive five years. For
the recent ten years, the school has also achieved the first-class successes
in teaching and education in Jiangsu Province.
The results of National Entrance Examination
and School Subject Competition have been among the first, and more than
90 percent of the total students have been enrolled in the key universities,
while five of them came out first in the NEE in Jiangsu or Shanghai.
There are more than 600 students who own prizes in the provincial or
above school subject competitions, among whom 8 students entered the
NWTC team (the National Winter Training Camp). The students from our
school obtain first prizes of scientific and technological inventions
in our province every year, among which the security electric socket"
invented by Shen Yu obtained the gold medal in the National Invention
Exhibition,as well as Hong Kong Wang Danping Scientific and Technological
Invention Award. His invention has filled in a blank in that field in
Jiangsu. In recent years, the school has all-sidedly implemented the
programme for modernizations, and made first appearance in the digitilized
campus. The complete teaching equipment has tentatively had audio-visual,
intelligent, networked characteristics and offered the reliable assurance
to meet the requisition on modern education of the information era.
As a key school with a long history , its localization of quality-oriented
education is high, namely to train the promising talents. The mode of
implementation is new, namely the obvious specialty under high quality.
The achievements are great, namely having unified quality-oriented education
with proportion of students entering colleges and universities, on the
high level morally, intelligently and physically. At present, our school
takes as its theory " Implementing the education of humanity and
training promising talents ", and takes as its goal striving to
build the school into a national-level demonstrative general middle
school, which is communicativized, internationalized and collectivized,
and with good domestic reputation and international influence. Well
