 Yixing
Middle School Jiangsu Province --- A Resplendent Pearl in Yixing, the
Cradle of Professors Yixing Middle School Jiangsu Province, a provincial
key middle school, locates in Yixing, which is well-known as the Cradle
of Professors as well as the famous Pottery Capital. The school has successively
won the titles of Demonstration School of the Project of Modernization
of Education in Wuxi Municipality, Advanced School of Moral Education
in Jiangsu Province, National Experimental School of Audio-visual Education,
Model School in Jiangsu Province, Civilized Unit in Jiangsu Province.
The school was also awarded Advanced Collective Unit in Jiangsu Province
in 1996 by the Jiangsu People's Government and was among the first national
demonstration senior middle schools appraised in 1998. Over a period of
more than seventy years of its staff's hard work, the school has accumulated
a wealth of experience and excellent tradition of the management of school,
with the perfect school spirit, that is, in pursuit of Endeavour, Elegance
and Beauty. T he
five unique features have been created in managing school, educating students,
building campus and teaching methods. With the inspiration of the school

has resulted in the rich cultural details.
The school, established in 1928,has cultivated over 25,000 personnel of
all kinds. A large number of scholars and professors, and highly qualified
workers have become the pillars on all walks of life, such as academicians
Wu haoqing, Zhu jiming and Chen taiyi; Zhu wujia, Lu jianke, the famous
mathematicians and Yu shaozhong, the former principal of Taiwan University.
In recent years, more than 300 students have won prizes in the national
subject competitions. The school locates in the center of Yixing City,
one of the developing medium-sized cities in Jiangsu, with the convenient
transportation to Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. Xi-yi Highway, (connected
to Hu-ning Highway), meets Ninghang Highway in Yixing, with Xingchang
railway through it as well. The school, covering an area of 66,700 square
metres(about 100 mu), is in possession of a complete set of teaching facilities,
classroom buildings of a unique style, a variety of auxiliary structures
and also a beautiful view of pleasant surroundings. It's a fine elegant
garden-like school. Every teacher is equipped with a portable computer,
each classroom with modern multi-media equipment, which is the first level
in our country so far. The school cable television and broadcasting systems
and the school Internet system greatly promote the school development.
Over 1,800 students are in 35 classes at present, with a staff of 171,
most of whom are high-rank teachers. The school pursues such a goal as
a nation-wide-famous modernized demonstration school with high qualified
and unique features, together with the management concept of cultivating
students on the development of human nature all life, and the running-school
strategy : managing school by law, by high qualified personnel and by
scientific research. Yixing School is a window school in Yixing City to
the world. Since the open policies were carried out, the school has created
friendly relationships not only with over 10 famous universities in the
country, but with a few universities and colleges in Australia and Canada.
The school has reached a cooperation agreement with a Canadian school.

students, and further education between teachers.
