Changzhou Institute of Mechatronic Technology

Changzhou Institute of Mechatronic Technology, founded in 1963, is a state-run, full-time and general higher college directly under provincial jurisdiction. For more than 40 years since its establishment, it has trained the professional men in big number for economic and social development. There are two school zones in the institute. The main school zone is located at the Changzhou University Town with the features of high vocational education. It covers an area of 864 mu, including building area of 200000 m2above and possesses 10000 students in enrollment. In campus, there is the beautiful environment, the strong culture atmosphere, the impressive faculty, the developed scientific and research industry, the perfect service system and a galaxy of excellent talents.

The CZIMT now has 7 departments--Mechanical Engineering Department，Mould Technology Department, Automobile Engineering Department, Electric Engineering Department, Information Engineering Department, Humanities Department, Basic Department. It gives priority to engineering courses, whish contains the specialties of machinery, mould, automobile, electricity, information, humanities, etc. with the advanced equipment, it has established a first-grade, state-level demonstration technical vocational education base for automobile maintenance and a mould technical training center of Jiangsu Province as well as the practical training centers for NC process, complete electricity, electronic technology, computer network. In addition, The University Town Automobile Driving Training Center and The Art Design Work Room have been set up there. The CZIMT established the State Vocational Technique Appraisement Office, undertaking the vocational technique training and appraisement for more than 30 sorties involving in NC machine tool, domestic appliance, electronic information and computer, etc. For the comprehensive development of the college, it also puts great emphasis on the advance of the Humanities. In 1996, the college established Humanities Department., which set up 7 majors—Business Japanese, Business English, International Trade, Logistic Management, E-commerce, Business Japanese/International Trade, Business English/International Trade

The CZIMT has made the close cooperation with the associations of electromechanical industry and the famous enterprises at home and abroad and devoted itself to the guiding principle of a running school of university-enterprise cooperation and combination of enterprises, universities and research institutes. It is the place where the Secretarial Office of Mould Industry Association of Jiangsu Province and the Mould Training Center of Jiangsu Province are located and is the executive unit of Institute of Electricity Industry and Electrical Intelligence Network of Jiangsu Province. The CIMT has set up several after-school practice bases with taking Changzhou Forest Machinery Co., Ltd., Changchai Co., Ltd., Baosteel Group Changzhou Metallurgical Machinery Plant, Jiangsu Duoleng NC Machine Tool Co., Ltd. as the principal part. In addition, it has established the training institutions, such as Jiangsu Training Center of German SIEMENS NC Technology Application, UG Software Training Center of America EDS Inc., the Training Center of Beijing Agie in East China, LidaSpecialTrainingCenter in East China.

The run-school pattern is composed mainly of three-year senior vocational education with compresence of trade-before and trade-after education. Relying on the guide of “Cultivating young to become an accomplished person”, a talent training system of senior technology application having characteristics of three-in-one system of “Knowledge, Ability and Quality have been formed. The graduates have enjoyed high reputation among the society. The CZIMT has setup a wide employment network. The employment rate of the graduates this year is above 98% over the years before.

The CZIMT has a wide developing prospect. The economic development in Yangtze River delta region needs a lot of the senior technical persons either having the theory base or having practical ability. As a cradle of modern manufacture persons, all teachers and students are bending their efforts in a single direction, forging ahead and working indefatigably for running a notable higher vocational institute with distinguishing feature and first quality and for cultivating more and better professions with senior technical application.
