Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) is a public institution of higher learning in Jiangsu Province, P. R. China. The university is a public institute of advanced education focusing on finance, economics, science, engineering, liberal arts and law, with financial and economic disciplines as its core.

NUFE is located in the historic and cultural city of Nanjing, which was the capital city of six ancient dynasties of China. The university has 16 schools and departments: Economics School, International Economic and Commerce School, Finance School, Public Finance and Taxation School, Accounting School, Business Management School, Marketing and Logistics Management School, Law School, Food Science and Engineering School, Information Engineering School, Department of Public Relations Management , Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Artistic Design, Department of Applied Mathematics, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Physical Education, as well as Hongshan School, a state-owned and privately run subsidiary school, offering 31 bachelor degree specialties.

NUFE has a student body of 16,000 and a staff population of 1,426 with 812 full time teachers, among whom are 414 full professors and associate professors.

NUFE occupies a total area of more than 3000 Chinese mu (an equivalent of 200 hectares of land), the total floor spaces is 700,000 square meters. Three libraries that have a total collection of about 1,240,000 titles. It has subscribed to more than 2,200 kinds of newspapers, periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages.

NUFE has established about 100 laboratories of varied specialties and microcomputer laboratories with 3,000 computers, multimedia classrooms, language laboratories and electrical audio-visual teaching centers. Internet service is provided through the computer center via CERNET. The 60,000 square meter modern sports ground can hold large-scale sports games.

Organization of the University

The University's chief executive officer is the president. The incumbent President is Professor Xu Cong-cai. There are five vice presidents who manage the university's major administrative divisions. The deans of the schools and the chairs of the departments report to the president.
