Jincheng city lies in the southeast part of Shanxi province, back on the Taihang Mountain, it is the gateway from Shanxi to enter center China. There are 4 counties(Zezhou, Yangceng, Linchuan, Qinshui), 1 city(Gaoping city) and 1 district under its jurisdiction, covers an area of 9490 square kilometers with a population of 2,102,610. 84% of the Jincheng people are rural people. There are 22 folks of people live in Jincheng , most of them are Han nationality. Jincheng is a revolutionary area with glorious history tradition. In the period of anti-Japanese and liberation, Jincheng city has contributed lots for the China revolution.Under the planned economy system, the Jincheng's economy developed slowly, the Jincheng people live at a low life standard.

There are more than 10 kinds of mineral resources such as coal, gas, ironstone, aluminium, copper, managanese, zinc, gold, diller, marble, crystal stone and dolomite reserve under the land which 160 kms long and 100 kms width, especially for the coal and iron, Jincheng also called "the city of coal and iron". The city also rich in plant and animal resources, there are many rare animals live here such as macaque and giant salamander, also there are many rare plant grown here.
