Xichang College is located in Xichang City----a world famous satellite city, which is rich in natural resources and characterized by its spring-like climate all the year round, about 500km away from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, P. R. China. XichangCollege has a large, beautiful campus. The garden-like campus covers an area of 1851mu (about 127hectares). It is not only beautiful with green hills, clean rivers and luxuriant vegetation and but also equipped with advanced teaching facilitates, With instruments valued ￥63,500,000. 1,400,000 books stored in the library, lecture halls equipped with 3,028 computers, and multi-media audio-lingual rooms offering 6,279 seats, the building area takes up some 340,000㎡There are now over 1,000 faculties, including 238 professors and associate professors, and 100 doctors and postgraduates. Visiting student

• Application prerequisites: a personal resume, highest degree certificate, official academic transcripts, certificate of Chinese Proficiency level, a photocopy of passport. To ensure the quality of teaching, Chinese proficiency examination for visiting student will be held after enrollment. Having passes the examination, the student can begin his/her specialized studying, If not, he/she should makeup Chinese studying, and then pass the examination organized by XichangCollege.

Accommodations:

Teaching Arrangements:

A.Class hours: 8 to 12 a.m., 2:40 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 16-20 hours per week.

• Chinese language teaching:

Required courses: Chinese reading, spoken Chinese, Pronunciation, Listening and Writing, etc.

Selective courses: Chinese folk-customs, translation, newspaper reading, classical Chinese, and Chinese Gongfu, and selected readings of contemporary literature, and etc., putting focus on the ability to use Chinese in real communications.

• Yi language teaching:

Required courses: Basic Yi Language, Spoken Yi Language, Pronunciation, Listening and Writing, etc.

Selective courses: Chinese Folk-customs, Yi’s Culture and Arts, classical Chinese, etc.
