The LHMS is located at Luzhou city, the joint of the Yangtze and the Tuo rivers. Luzhou, called as“ the city of liquor” because of its 400-year cellar well known by both abroad and at home, is a famous historic and cultural city in the southwest of China and one of the national clean cities, with plentiful natural resources and galaxy of talent.

The LHMS, covering an area of 93380m2 ,and with a building area of36350m2, is reasonably divided into three portions, namely teaching, sporting, and living. All of them are full of plants and flowers, embracing buildings of education laboratory, office and dormitories as well as different ball games grounds and track & field ground with six-standard lanes.

The LHMS possesses physics, chemistry & biology lab, sound lab and library equipped with provincial key school standard devices serving for the effective and quality education, Furthermore, The LHMS set up muilt-media classroom and E-reading classroom equipped with more than 120 computers for the IT education, offering three-dimensional distant education network to send picture-sound signals and net information into all classes.Sound lab and library

The LHMS has more than 60 classes of both junior and senior degree with more than 3000 students and over 200 teaching and administrative staffs. There are not only 58 high ranking teachers in all subjects, but also a lot of advanced teachers of State , province, city level, 76 intermediate ranking teachers including subject leading or young backbones of the city in the school. It is certain that a teacher team of reasonable structure, comprehensive subjects, fair style and high quality has formed.

The aim of the LHMS is to form the first-grade educational environment, administration, teaching team and education quality. The guidance of the LHMS is “the three faces” , meaning farcing the modernization, facing the whole world and facing the future. The philosophic idea of the LHMS is to pay more attention to the development of character of each student in all round way based on humanism.

For many years, the achievement of the LHMS’ entrance examination for both college and senior middle school always ranks the front in the city and becomes first one in the district. Many graduates of the LHMS have entered various famous key universities, including Qinhua University, Beijing University, People’s University, Beijing University, People’s University and China Science & Technology University etc. Besides, the achievement of the LHMS in sports and art has been always keeping up with the front rank in the city. The art works of the LHMS always win various medals. The players of the LHMS as the representatives of Luzhou have taken part in the provincial competition of track & field, ball games, and swimming for many times, creating excellent achievements. The track & field team of the LHMS has won gold medals for ten years. The players of the LHMS have broken the city records for 47 times since 1992, and over 100 student players of the LHMS have entered physical education specialty of Beijing physical University, Beijing Normal University, and Southwest Normal University.
