Ningbo Huamao Foreign Languages School

NingboHuamaoForeignLanguagesSchool (HuamaoSchool) is Zhejiang province’s first nongovernmental top-ranked key middle school. It was established by Ningbo Huamao Group with an investment of RMB 500 million. It is a full-time boarding school under the direct leadership of Ningbo Municipal Education Bureau, adopting a 12-year successive educational system ranging from primary to high school. The school is located in the golden area for the Ningbo municipal higher education park, adjoining Yinzhou District Government office buildings.

Since the recruitment of students in 1999, there have been 130-odd classes, over 5200 students and more than 600 teachers and staff. Over 50% of teachers are medium-grade and senior teachers, 10 of whom are Zhejiang provincial special-grade teachers.

HuamaoSchool has a spacious and environmentally wonderful campus with the first-rate living facilities and teaching equipment across China. It covers 40 hectares with a construction area of 220 thousand square meters. Actually, it can hold 150 classes and 6000 students. The campus is naturally divided by its school-protecting river, main roads, and gardens into three sections, i.e., primary school section, middle school section and high school section. The whole school is also organically linked together. II. Ningbo
Ningbo is situated on the shores of the East China Sea, flanked by the southern part of the most economically developed Yangtze River Delta. Shanghai, an international metropolis, is separated from Ningbo by the HangzhouBay. Ningbo is not only ZhejiangProvince's economic center but also one of China's most economic booming areas.
Ningbo is a rapidly developing medium-sized city as well as a seaport city. It is about 2 hours' drive to Hangzhou, a world-famous scenic city. It is about 4 hours' ride to Shanghai, the biggest city in China, a most commercial and prosperous city in China as well as in the world.


Ningbo, along the coastline, lies in East China and also in South China. The climate in Ningbo is very agreeable and comfortable. In the summertime, the highest temperature is around 40 degrees Celsius and in winter, the lowest temperature is around zero degrees Centigrade. There are four distinct seasons in the year, i.e., spring, summer, fall and winter.

Ningbo is the birthplace of "Neolithic Hemudu Culture", which has a history of over 7000-year human civilization. Since the Tang Dynasty, Ningbo has been one of China's most important trading ports. Ningbo has its good reputation of rich cultural heritage and abundant economic concepts.
Ningbo today is one of the cities opening up to the outside world, an independently planning city which enjoys the same rights as a provincial capital city does in economic management. Ningbo is a historically cultural famous city, a fine tourism city and also an environmentally protected model city in China.

III. How to apply for a teaching position at Huamao School or Huamao School’s brother school called Ningbo Huamao Multi-culture Education Center (Huamao Center)
If any candidate intends to be employed by Huamao School or Huamao Center, he/she shall first email Mr John Zhu, who is in charge of foreign teachers' affairs, at johnzhunb@yahoo.com.cn, providing him with the following documents in the form of attachment.
1. A clear copy of the valid passport
2. A clear copy of the highest certificates, bachelor's degree, master's degree or Ph D degree.
3. A clear copy of TEFL or TESOL certificate
4. A detailed CV, which must contain the items below:
a. Full name (the passport name)
b. Gender
c. Date of birth
d. Nationality
e. Native language
g. Education background
h. Teaching/working experiences (over the past 5 years, e.g. what year, at what school, teach what grade students, in what place, what country)
i. Computer skills
j. Interests & hobbies

IV. Salary & benefits for those candidates who want to be hired by HuamaoSchool:

1. Monthly salary ranging between 4500 and 5500 RMB, based on Employee's teaching experiences, degree certificate, TEFL/TESOL certificate, etc.
2. Airfare allowance: 3000 RMB per semester
3. Travel allowance: 1000 RMB per semester
4. Power allowance: 300 RMB per month, 3000 RMB in total, except July and August
5. Upon the completion of each semester, Employee will be given one more month's salary.
6. Medical care & treatment is available both at the on-campus clinic and in off-campus city-level hospitals locally.
7. Overtime teaching: 100 RMB/class on campus or off campus
8. A free, unshared, furnished, on-campus apartment is available for Employee to live in with all modern comforts and conveniences, including the Internet access and a desktop.
9. All the regular classes will take place in the daytime, from Monday to Friday.

V. The requirements for those who want to be hired by Huamao School or Huamao Center
1. They must be from such native English-speaking countries as US, UK, Canada and Australia.
2. Their native language must be English.
3. They must have at least one year of teaching English experiences.
4. They must gain a bachelor's degree certificate or above.
5. Any candidate with TEFL or TESOL certificate is more preferable.
6. Their ages may be from 25 to 55 years old.
7. Males, females or couples are all welcome.
8. They must be healthy and strong with no infectious or chronic disease.
9. They must teach 20 classes per week. If not, their monthly salaries should be decreased accordingly.

10. Each academic year, 7-8 teachers are needed.

After a 2-semester contract, based on an employee positive review, he/she will have the salary raised according to the school's development situation.

VI. Salary & benefits for those candidates who want to be hired byHuamao Center

1. Monthly salary ranging between 5000 and 6000 RMB, based on Employee's teaching experiences, degree certificate, TEFL/TESOL certificate, etc.
2. Airfare allowance: 3000 RMB per semester
3. Travel allowance: 1000 RMB per semester

4. Housing allowance: 1500 RMB/month, 15000 RMB in total, except July and August
5. Upon the completion of each semester, Employee will be given one more month's salary.
6. Medical care & treatment is available in off-campus city-level hospitals locally.
7. Overtime teaching: 100 RMB/class on campus or off campus

8. Any teacher must be in charge of a small-size class of about 10 foreign students, who can teach English, math, science and humanities. The courses will contain primary, middle and high school subjects. When any candidate applies for a teaching position, he/she must first choose the courses he/she is willing and going to teach.

9. All the regular classes will take place in the daytime, from Monday to Friday. However, any teacher must stay at school from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

10. Males, females and couples are all welcome.

11. Each academic year, 5-6 teachers are needed.

12. A special offer: Dean of the school is urgently needed. The candidate can be male or female with a master’s degree in education and TEFL/TESOL certificate, with several years of teaching and managing school experiences, whose age might range between 35 and 50 years old, who must be from US, UK, Canada and Australia.

The Dean to be must reach Ningbo by July 15.
