Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) is a provincial institution of higher learning situated in the prosperous and picturesque Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province. ZUFE was founded in 1974. Over the decades, ZUFE has made momentous achievements. Rigorous teaching, exemplary management and excellent academic atmosphere characterize the University.

With two campuses, namely Wenhua Campus and Xiasha Campus, the University now occupies a total area of over 94 ha. At present ZUFE has tenschools, and two colleges, namely Adult Education College, Dongfang College, one department — Physical Education Department. There are over twenty research institutes, such as “Non-Government Economy Research Institute”, “Social Policy Research Institute”, etc.

At present, ZUFE has over 1200 teaching and administrative staff, among whom over 700 are full-time faculty with nearly 100 being professors and over 200 associate professors. There are more than 17,000 students in the university, over 12000 of whom are full-time undergraduates and postgraduates. It has six Master’s degree programs for public finance, accounting, finance and banking, industrial economics, business administration and history of economy. It also has Doctor’s degree programs in collaboration with some domestic famous universities.

ZUFE has set up six major subjects including economics, administration, literature, law, science, engineering,which cover 31 bachelor’s degree programs and over twenty specialties. Public finance, industrial economy, accounting, finance and banking and business administration are provincial key subjects. The university has 23 standard computer rooms, 81 multimedia classrooms, 23 language labs and 27 specialized labs, among which the lab of finance and banking is one provincial laboratory base for demonstrating operation, the lab of accounting is the provincial experimental base. The 45 thousand square-meter university library now has stored about 700 thousand volumes, 450 thousand electronic books and over 2250 kinds of Chinese and foreign journals and periodicals, 19 data bases and over ten thousand electronic journals and periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages.

ZUFE has established academic exchange and cooperation ties with many universities in USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and has been entitled to enroll foreign students as well as students from Hangkong, Macow and Taiwan.

ZUFE is a modern institution imbued with vigor and vitality. It has been playing an important role in the economic development of Zhejiang Province and has made significant contributions to the Province.
